On the palate, the new vintage of the BERG KAISERSTEINFELS GG unfolds a spicy firework display, carried by a seemingly endless minerality. Thirteen months of lees aging lend this wine from the barren soil tremendous grip and simultaneously delights with subtle spice. This taut structure is elegantly supported by finely nuanced oak. Exotic fruits like mango and star fruit round off our enthusiasm. A truly great wine from an exceptional vintage – a genuine masterpiece!

Kaisersteinfels Mountain

The imposing Kaisersteinfels mountain towers majestically above the Rhine bend near Rüdesheim, directly opposite the confluence of the Nahe and Rhine rivers near Bingen. With a slope ranging from 5 to 35%, this area is characterized by a variety of terrain, from gentle to steep, and is composed of barren, stony soils of quartzite slate gravel with red slate inclusions.

At 280 meters above sea level, we cultivate the old terraces, which create a unique microclimate and produce wines with intense minerality. The name refers both to the rocky soil structure and to Emperor Charlemagne , who once had the Orléans grape variety cultivated here.
