Schlossberg Mountain
The imposing Schlossberg mountain lies above the "Binger Loch," where the Rhine changes its course to the north. With a gradient of 65%, it is one of the steepest vineyards in the Rheingau region, secured by massive vineyard walls.
The south to southwest-facing slope ensures intense sunlight, and the quartzite and slate soil retains additional heat. The steep slope covers approximately 25 hectares and offers optimal conditions for viticulture.
The Schlossberg owes its name to Ehrenfels Castle , which today stands as a clearly visible ruin overlooking the landscape.
